To keep your test equipment working and giving accurate readings you will need to get a calibration check routinely. We may need to dismantle equipment for this, but often this is not required.
Since the tester has been sent to us for calibration it might be worth getting a medical on it while it’s with us – this we call a ‘Medcal’ ie medical and calibration.
The normal additional charge of this is not expensive and our techs will open the unit, clean it out, check for signs of trouble such as loose fittings, overheating, check internal battery voltage etc. When calibrating PATs with printers this may include a quick printer service including the cutter if fitted.
If during this service a problem is encountered then we will fix minor issues or we will come back to you and advise the problem, what’s necessary to fix it, the cost of these repairs and any time delay caused by parts needing to be ordered etc.
This Medcal can be very worthwhile if you want to minimise the risk of breakdowns at an inconvenient time.
A medical on top of a calibration usually adds $45-90 (plus GST) on to the cost of calibration. A small price to pay for preventative maintenance.
Been using Metrotest for a few years now to service out PAT testers, always been happy with their service. Reliable, always on time, and done with a smile. All you could ask for.
Metrotest always provide a quick turn around when servicing our testers, and have very competitive rates. Very much recommended.
